The specifications for a new radioheliograph are detailed. The principles of one-dimensional and two-dimensional imaging are reviewed emphasizing the need for fast Fourier transformation and multicorrelation. The temporal and spatial resolution of the instrument are detailed. The structure of the receiving system is discussed together with the various elements of the numerical subsystem. Original methods for data acquisition and storage are described emphasizing the need for data compression.
