We present a preliminary analysis of blue starburst galaxies in the HST Cosmic Evolution Survey. These starbursts were identified with a multifilter color-redshift method, and number some 4097 objects with U < 24 in the redshift range 0 < z < 4. These data constrain the faint-end slope of the blue field galaxy luminosity function to MV ˜ -12 at low redshifts, and provide HST spatial resolution for a large, complete sample of starburst galaxies with z > 3.
