The Galaxy Evolution Explorer (GALEX) has recently obtained deep ultraviolet images in two bands (FUV and NUV) for more than 300 nearby galaxies. These objects are part of the GALEX Nearby Galaxies Survey which is designed to comprehensively span range of physical properties and morphological types of the known galaxies in our local Universe. Asymptotic FUV and NUV magnitudes and luminosities, FUV-NUV colors, structural parameters and surface photometry have been derived for the whole sample. We show the dependence of these properties on the morphological type of the galaxies, optical (RC3) and near-infrared (2MASS) integrated photometry, and dust extinction (as derived from the far-infrared to far-UV ratio).
