We will present VLT-ISAAC near-infrared spectroscopy for 17 hot, presumably massive stars in the region of the Galactic Center HeI cluster. Our spectra, which is centered in the H band at 1.71 μ m and the K band at 2.085 and 2.166 μ m, has a spectral resolution of ˜8500 and a S/N ranging from 30-150. We concentrated our efforts on stars in the Galactic Center cluster that had not shown broad wind lines in previous studies. We are pursuing a more normal population to better constrain the underlying characteristics of the cluster (age, mass function, etc). Our group has developed sophisticated quantitative atmospheric models for hot stars using near-infrared spectral lines. An analysis of our new spectra will appear in a future paper. Our spectral resolution will allow us to obtain radial velocities for the individual stars observed. With this, we may be able to constrain the kinematic history and estimate the cluster destruction time. This material is based upon work supported by the National Science Foundation under Grant No. 0094050.
