HST/STIS echelle spectra reveal nearly 20 velocity components corresponding to ejecta in the Homunculus wall and in the Little Homunculus, plus several ISM velocity components. With 100,000 resolving power and 0.05" angular resolution, we see the ejecta components against the stellar spectrum and the nebular spectrum. Velocities of these components shift rapidly in velocity with position.
The VLT/UVES spectra provides R=40,000 to 80,000 and seeing-limited spatial resolution of 1".The two datasets overlap from 3040 to 3159Å. The measured equivalent widths are strikingly different primarily due to nebular-scattered light contributing to the UVES spectrum. Additional measures with STIS CCD medium dispersion (R 7000, ang res 0.1") provide comparisons of equivalent widths out to 10300Å and suggest decreasing scattered light contribution with increasing wavelength. Comparisons of measured velocities, line profiles, equivalent widths and column densities will be made to provide insight on bringing the three datasets together.
