Calculations for the group delay of radio waves in the corona in the case of longitudinal propagation are carried out in the framework of the plasma mechanism. Dynamic spectra are established for various electron-beam parameters. For electron velocities of not less than 3 x 10 to the 9th cm/s in the source, with dimensions Delta rho greater than abount 1-billion cm, the group delay at high fequencies predominates. This results in a positive frequency drift of about 300 MHz/s. The negative frequency drift arises only at small particle velocities of approximately 1.2 x 10 to the 9th cm/s when the low frequency emission is delayed due to the reduction of group velocity near exit levels of ordinary and extraordinary waves. Two interesting phenomena are also observed at small velocities: a change in the frequency drift direction and a mode splitting with positive or negative frequency drift.
