The distribution and density of dust in the central part of the star formation region 2 Mon in the young open star cluster NGC 2244 are studied. The ring of the cluster coincides with the ring emission of the Rosette nebula. Based on UBV photometry and proper motion data, it is shown that there is no dust in the eastern half of the ring of maximum emission of the Rosette nebula. If a dust envelope surrounds the cluster nucleus, the upper limit of its optical thickness does not exceed 0.3 m. Very dense dust clouds at a radius of over 1 kpc in the western part shield the light of the cluster stars. Their optical density is estimated at 3-4 m.
