Observations have been made of a large sample of Vega-excess stars. Midinfrared spectra show silicate dust features and also the UIR bands, implying the presence of hydrocarbon material. Millimetre-wave photometry indicates the presence of large amounts of cool material, while near-IR photometry reveals an excess in several stars, which we ascribe to transiently-heated very small grains.
