The metallicity scale of eight metal-rich globular clusters, relative to 47 Tuc, is estimated on the basis of low dispersion scans. A new set of high resolution, high precision CCD spectra demonstrates that systematic errors have occurred in the placement of the continuum in previously reported echelle analyses of metal-rich clusters. The reconciliation of low dispersion scan analyses and high dispersion equivalent widths is obtainable with a solar Fe/H ratio of -0.7 + or 0.1 dex for 47 Tuc, which is in keeping with the scale established by Bell and Gustafsson (1979) through photometric indices computed from synthetic spectra and model atmospheres.
