Since the first photometric investigation of Butcher and Oemler the evolution of the stellar populations in cluster galaxies has been the subject of numerous observational and theoretical studies. I will summarize our current knowledge regarding the stellar population content of cluster galaxies. In doing this I will discuss plausible evolutionary paths for both ellipticals and disk galaxies and as a function of the galaxy mass.
