After a brief review of the disk instability model for dwarf novae, I describe the effects of irradiation of the disc and the secondary (truncation of the inner disk and changes in the S-curve), and present numerical results showing that, as proposed by Brian Warner at the Wyoming conference ([Warner,]) ``The spectrum of post-superoutburst behaviour is generated by the interplay of reactions of the disk and secondary to irradiation''. Interestingly, we are also able to reproduce long lasting outbursts, which are similar to superoutbursts, without assuming the existence of a tidal instability.
