The authors present VLA observations of the nearby radio galaxy 1759+211 at 20 and 6 cm with both the B and A arrays, and at 2 cm with only the A array. These observations reveal gross double structure with an oscillating one-sided radio jet whose oscillation wavelength increases significantly beyond about the optical extent of the galaxy. The jet has a largely parallel magnetic field but, unlike almost all sources with such a field configuration, it has a very weak core. After several apparent oscillations, the jet bends significantly towards the northwest and becomes diffuse. The authors consider a few possible explanations for the morphology and suggest that if hydrodynamical instabilities cause the inner wiggles and ram-pressure bending produces the final large curvature then a consistent set of jet parameters is possible.
