The spectra of AM Her (3U 1805+50) have been studied in a state of low brightness. It is found that the equivalent widths and line profiles of all the elements strongly vary with the orbital period phase. These variations are shown to be different from the values obtained for a period of maximum brightness. The lines of different elements vary with phase in different ways. Two trends are defined which are characterized by sharp spectral anomalies: phi(pol)=0.0-0.5 and 0.4. With increasing brightness, the line profiles grow narrow and become nearly identical for all the elements. The results indicate the absence of the accretion disk in the AM Her system.
