Nonlinear interaction of stars with a spiral gravitational-potential wave near the corotation radius will produce a plateau in the stellar distribution function after a few revolutions of the galaxy. This effect will terminate the resonance mechanism that builds up the spiral wave. The wave saturation level determined by the resonance mechanism is much smaller than the level observed.
