A result obtained from a recent reinterpretation of experimental data on CH3++H2 → CH5++hν is used to revise values given earlier for the rate coefficients of this process at 13, 30, and 80K. It is also argued that radiative electronic transitions are responsible for stabilization in many of the ion-molecule association processes of interest in connection with interstellar cloud chemistry.
