The evolutions of the two types of pulsars suggested by Huang et al. (1985) are analytically followed, and the results are compared with observations. It is found that the two types show very different evolutionary behaviors, with type II pulsars evolving according to the typical magnetic decay model, but with type I pulsars showing more complicated evolutionary behavior. The two types have different values of a constant which depends on the initial strength of the surface field and the structure of the star, which means that the two types probably have different structures and initial fields. Type I pulsars are one order of magnitude older than type II pulsars. The observed number of both types is approximately the same, so that the birth rate of type I is one order less than that of type II. The two types have different ends, with the remnants of type I having very long rotation periods while type IIs have periods less than about 1.4 s.
