Measuring the peculiar velocities (PVs) of clusters of galaxies relative to the microwave background radiation is examined. The radial component of the PV is discussed, considering the changing radiation intensity and temperature. Emphasis is given to the possibility of finding the tangential component of the PV by observing the microwave background polarization of the scattered radiation: scattering on a single electron, the effect of finite optical depth, and other sources of polarization are considered.
