Scientific paper

A nonlinear magnetohydrodynamic model of the solar dynamo is considered.
It is shown that in order for the solar dynamo theory to be consistent
with observations it is necessary that the angular velocity of the
convective shell have a radial gradient and that this gradient be
negative.
