The blue surface brightness profile of the edge-on galaxy NGC 4565 has been measured using grid photography, which is designed for the photometry of very faint features that cover more than a few millimeters on a photographic plate. A halo luminosity of 8.2 plus or minus 1.8 x 10 to the 8th solar luminosities (B) was calculated in an annulus from 9 to 17 kpc from the galaxy center, but no halo was detected beyond 23 kpc, with a luminosity upper limit of 9.7 x 10 to the 8th solar luminosities (B) in a 23-67 kpc annulus.
