The rotation of Mars is analyzed assuming rigid body motion, where the adopted variables are the Euler angles (psi, theta, phi) and the method is basically that of the variation of parameters, requiring the use of an absolute reference frame. The obliquity is found to oscillate with a period of 120,000 yr with an amplitude modulated by the dominant period of the inclination of the orbit, which is 1,170,000 yr; the maximum variation is about 20 deg.
