The spectra and light curves, obtained with improved data processing techniques, of black hole candidates are presented. The three black hole candidates Cygnus X-1.GX339-4, and the x ray transient source GS2000+25 were observed with the High Energy X ray Experiment (HEXE) aboard the Soviet space station MIR. The spectra of Cygnus X-1 and GS2000+25 in the energy range from 30 to 180 keV deviate significantly from simple power laws and are compatible with either thermal bremsstrahlung from a hot and optically thin plasma or low energy photons comptonized to high x ray energies in a hot plasma cloud.
