An analysis of the 'dips' which appear in the X-ray intensity of Her X-1 suggests that their fundamental period is 1.66 days. This period corresponds to the beat frequency nu(1.7 days) + nu(70 days). If the dips are caused by a precessing disk, then the precession period of the disk is 70 days. Two sets of dips appear to be present. There is an intrinsic scatter in the dip occurrences of the order of 0.05 days.
