Aligned double structure has been observed on widely different scales in extragalactic radio sources. The alignment could arise if supermassive objects fall back into their galaxy of origin and are captured by its dense nuclear condensation of stars. This explanation predicts the existence of two distinct classes of triple radio sources, which seems to be supported by observational evidence.
