Polarimetric observations of AW UMa, W UMa, VW Cep, and SW Lac are reported. Changes in observed polarization during the orbital period were very small, and no evidence of gas streams, disks, or any other kind of detached matter producing polarization by scattering was found. AW UMa showed a smooth variation of + or - 0.015% in the parameter Py, which might be real. However, the mean polarizations were extremely small for each binary; e.g., in the case of AW UMa Px = 0.003 + or - 0.002 and Py = 0.011 + or - 0.004%.
