Scientific paper
A search of a UK Schmidt Telescope objective-prism plate has revealed a
new symbiotic star in the Large Magellanic Cloud. This is the first
M-type donor identified in the Large Magellanic Cloud, and at M4 it has
the latest type found so far in either Magellanic Cloud. Details of the
spectral characteristics and variability of this star are presented.
