Recent X ray observations with the Ginga satellite of the X ray eclipse in the binary system SS433 are examined. They confirmed and implemented the previous observations with the EXOSAT satellite. The assumptions that allow proceeding from observed data to estimates of the mass of the compact object and the size of the jets are investigated. The results are used to constrain the mass of the compact object in order to clarify its nature. The question concerning the mechanism for the possible transition from a quiescent to an active X ray phase of the system and the connection of exact timing of the X ray eclipses with the sense of the orbital motion are investigated.
