The article describes a flight of NASA's Airborne Astronomical Observatory that was made to record spectra of the Quadrantid meteors. It is noted that 36 meteors were observed in a period of 2 1/2 hours on the night of maximum and that the instruments recorded the spectra of meteors fainter than 5th magnitude. The spectra of two Quadrantids are presented, and reasons for investigating major meteor showers are discussed.
