X-ray properties of the galactic black hole candidates are reviewed. Those properties, previously considered as possible black hole signatures, are reassessed in the light of the recent results. Two bright transients recently discovered from Ginga exhibit unique X-ray properties. Their characteristics are studied as a function of accretion rate. The results suggest that these sources are new black hole candidates. Similarities in the spectral characteristics between the galactic black hole candidates and AGN's are discussed.
