The interchondrule matrix and opaque chondrule rims were studied in six unequilibrated ordinary chondrites: Bishunpur, Krymka, Semarkona, Chainpur, Tieschitz, and Sharps. Optical microscopy, electron probe microanalysis, SEM, and analytical TEM are used to obtain textural, structural, mineralogical, and chemical data are obtained. The results are used to discussed the origins of matrices and rims. It is suggested that the lithophile elements in all ordinary chondrites were contributed by a single precursor population of chondrules.
