Scientific paper

The influence of the simultaneous action of drag and gravitational forces on meteoroid motion in the earth's atmosphere is studied. The corresponding equation of motion is solved approximately. The solution found is then applied to the ablation part of the Valec fireball motion to obtain the parameters determining the dynamical characteristics of the meteoroid motion. It is demonstrated that the new theory, which takes into account also the gravitational force, describes the fireball motion very well.
