HII Galaxies show distinctive strong-narrow emission lines, and have low met al abundances in the local universe. Similar objects in all respects have been found recently up to redshifts of ~ 3. In particular, they appear to show the same correlation between the measured strength and width of their emission lines which makes them powerful cosmological probes, including studies of the chemical enrichment of the universe. I will present new results from a search for high redshift HII galaxies using a variety of detection techniques, and discuss the need for new observations.
