There are no examples of Blue Compact Dwarf Galaxies known within the Local Group. HST WFPC2 observations of the most nearby Blue Compact Dwarf Galaxy VII Zw 403 (= UGC 6456) now resolve single stars with a quality (limiting magnitude, confusion) comparable to what has previously been achieved for dwarf Irregular galaxies in the Local Group from the ground. We use the V, V-I color-magnitude diagrams of several Local Group dIs as templates to investigate the stellar content and star-formation history of the BCD. Support for this work was provided by NASA through grant number AR-06404.01-95A.
