When it is launched from Cape Canaveral in December, of 2001, NASA's Space InfraRed Telescope Facility (SIRTF) will become the fourth and final facility in the Great Observatories Program, joining Hubble Space Telescope (HST, 1990), the Compton Gamma-Ray Observatory (CGRO, 1991), and the Chandra X-Ray Observatory (CXO, 1999). We present an overview of the SIRTF Project, review the current status of the construction phase of the facility, and outline the opportunities for community participation in the SIRTF Science Program. Further information about the SIRTF Project can be found on the WEB at http://sirtf.caltech.edu/.
