Phobos: Orbit, Mars Satellites: Orbits
Scientific paper
A method is proposed for refinement of the orbit of Phobos using inexact models of the motion of Mars and the Earth. Its essence is the determination of corrections to the measured quantities, which would compensate for the inexact coordinates of Mars and the Earth. The method is applied to a model problem in which the range and radial velocity of the Phobos-2 Lander are the measured quantities.
