Regge-Teitelboim gravity has been proposed with the motivation that the first principles which govern the evolution of the entire Universe cannot be too different from those which determine the world-line (world-sheet) behavior of a point particle (string). The cosmological consequence of such a theory are examined. The possibility of a critical cosmology (free of cosmological constant) with sub-critical total energy density is advocated.
