Using high-time-resolution and high-sensitivity data on the intensity, polarization, position and size of type-III burst groups obtained at 5 frequencies, a careful Fourier transform spectral analysis is conducted. The study further confirms the existence of periodicity in type-III burst groups; most of the events have periods between 1 and 6 seconds and show multiple periods at a 90-percent confidence level or better. The type-III burst groups can be divided into two classes, one with weak polarization and with periods over a wide range up to 6 seconds, and the other with strong polarization and short periods of less than 2 seconds and smaller-size compact sources.
