The growth rate for the bisymmetric magnetic field in the two-dimensional swing-excitation model (Chiba and Tosa, 1990) is derived. A possible explanation of the observed correlation between the magnetic field strength and the strength of the density wave shock is proposed. Three different mechanisms of magnetic field amplification by a density wave are elucitated.
