The results of numerical simulations of galaxy clustering in a two-dimensional model are presented. The simulations permitted better resolution than could be obtained in three-dimensional simulations. A spectrum of initial perturbations corresponding to a cold dark matter model was used. It is found that peaks of the linearized density distribution are not reliable tracers of eventual galaxy distribution.
