The nonlinear stage of development of a Jeans instability in the expanding Universe is investigated. It is shown that, in a growing gravitational mode, the relation between the density and velocity is such that, during the nonlinear stage, the maximum of the initial density develops into a self-trapped nondissipative gravitational singularity (NGS). The NGS has definite scaling relationships for the gas density, velocity and field potential in the vicinity of the singularity.
