Fabry-Perot Interferometers: Filters

Two-dimensional spectroscopy, where a spectral line profile is obtained in each resolved image pixel, is the main application and aim of the presented design. Lithium niobate has found recent interesting applications in the construction of tunable Fabry-Perot etalons. The design properties of the etalon are discussed, together with the electrooptic and piezoelectric effect in the crystal axes. Thermal analysis is also discussed.
