Theoretical radiation patterns of Uranian kilometric radiation are computed at several frequencies. The model assumes that radio waves are generated at the electron cyclotron frequency on magnetic field lines corresponding to a fixed L-shell encircling the south magnetic pole at L = 4. The resulting pattern consists of a planet-wide hollow emission cone whose axis of symmetry is along the dipole axis. Allowing for a variable thickness of the radiation beam as a function of frequency, the model accounts for a number of features seen in Voyager data.
