Results are analyzed for simultaneous photoelectric photometry and spectroscopy of Nova Cygni 1975 carried out separately at two different observatories. It is shown that the nova's light curve was distinguished by a sharp maximum and a steep decline, that the visible maximum was attained on August 30.7, 1975, and that the nova was characterized by a very large amplitude (greater than 18.5 magnitudes), exceptionally fast fading, and high luminosity at maximum light. Rapid brightness fluctuations of variable amplitude but with a constant period of 0.14096 day were observed on and after September 9-10, 1975. The spectrum near maximum and in the first decay stage is found to have been characterized by broad emission bands accompanied on their short-wavelength side by broad diffuse absorption features having mean radial velocities that increased from -1700 km/sec on August 30-31 to -4200 km/sec on September 23, when the absorption vanished.
