A linear digicon detector has been employed for speckle interferometry in a mode where digital on-line autocorrelation analysis was performed at the telescope. Results are presented for observations of two binary systems and Nova Cygni 1975. The extension of this method to a two-dimensional device and problems associated with speckle interferometry at very low light levels are discussed.
