Different estimates of the optical pulse radiation produced by black hole explosions and the significance of different nuclear models are discussed. Estimates of the black hole explosion rate are derived; one event was observed in 15.3 h of observation. The use of at least four very large optical reflectors each of aperture greater than 10 m would increase the sensitivity of determining black hole explosions from detecting optical pulses.
