The effects of a strong gravitational field on the polarized radiation coming from a point source orbiting a Schwarzschild black hole are investigated. It is shown that, for a source with intrinsic polarization properties, although no rotation of the polarization plane occurs along a given ray, the observed position angle of the polarization vector changes significantly during the orbital period.
