The stability of linear convective modes in the solar envelope model is investigated by incorporating in a very crude manner the effects of turbulent pressure and eddy transport coefficients calculated in the mixing length approximation. It is demonstrated that for a reasonable choice of the parameters there occur two peaks in the growth rate versus horizontal wavenumber plot which correspond to the observed features associated with granulation and supergranulation.
