The line intensity ratios of H-alpha to forbidden N II, forbidden S II
at 6713 A to that at 6731 A, and H-alpha to forbidden S II observed in
planetary nebulae present systematic changes with the diameter of the
nebula. Distinct evolutionary trends for B and C nebulae show that the
two classes of nebulae do not evolve in the same way.
