HD 116890, previously used as a comparison star for HD 116458 is the first Ap star to be detected by the 5200 A depression index photometry alone. It is shown to possess an intermediate 5200 index, Si-type Ap characteristics, and a 4.5 d period of light variability. The period had earlier been mistakenly assigned to HD 116458. HD 116458 is rather constant in light and color with one of the highest absolute values of the 5200 index known. A preliminary orbit for HD 116458 gives e 0.4 and omega 160 deg with period 70.651 d.
