Attention is drawn to the systematic errors of trigonometric parallaxes. Corrections are proposed for several stations (including Allegheny), graphically related to the coordinates and the spectral type of the parallax star. They were derived by comparing 1660 trigonometric parallaxes with the corresponding spectroscopic parallaxes. The weighted mean of all corrections is 0.005 arc s. The same result is obtained by comparing the frequency distribution of the relative parallaxes with a theoretically derived distribution function. The mean correction values for seven observatories are applied to the Hyades.
