Electron correlations affect the magnitude as well as the angular distribution of photon-electron scattering in a plasma. The asymmetric scattering correction to the photon-electron scattering opacity due to electron correlations is derived. Comparing this correction with the correction due to quantum correlations, it is shown that in a star such as the sun the total increase in opacity due to asymmetric scattering is greater than the total decrease in opacity due to quantum correlations.
